VANDALS have reigned a series of attacks on a health centre for people with learning difficulties.

Hooligans have smashed a large number of windows at Bridges Learning Centre on Crow Wood health park.

It has already cost more than £2,000 to repair the damage and improve security.

Two more windows were broken this weekend.

Health chiefs this week appealed to the local community to be vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously.

"It is thought that these criminal acts have been carried out by youths at night time," said a spokesperson for Chester & Halton Community NHS Trust.

"We are asking for support from all sections of the local community in trying to make youths understand the importance of protecting the buildings which are highly valued for the services provided.

"Please contact the police immediately if you see any criminal acts taking place."

A range of specialist health services are provided at Crow Wood health park, much valued by clients and their families.

Support for children with special needs is provided at Woodview Child Development Centre.

There is also a wheelchair assessment centre and training unit.
