NO-ONE seems to know why the water supply to homes in West Bank became badly discoloured - twice this week.

Residents say their water became dirty brown on twice within five days.

"It was a horrible, murky brown," said one woman. "We drink a lot of water but it looked disgusting. We can't understand why it has happened on two separate days in less than a week."

A spokesman for North West Water said: "We are not aware of anything which could have caused a problem and we do not have any record of any complaints to us.

"However, we are going to investigate it. We would ask any customers who experience this problem to let us know."

Consumers are asked to report any water discolouration by phoning 0345-462200.
