General Chemicals 4

Padgate St Oswalds 0

BIG Chemics centre forward Chris Lloyd gave manager Ivor Richards three very good reasons why he is the right man to lead the Chemics front line in the forthcoming season.

Lloyd scored twice in the first 15 minutes and drove home a late penalty kick to complete his hat-trick.

It was his second goal that sent the crowd wild as he shimmied round a defender and chipped the Padgate keeper from over 25 yards.

He was complemented by the speedy Steve Arnold who himself was instrumental in Chemics other goal as he drove a shot which the keeper failed to hold and Paul Howard netted from the rebound.

It was a good all round performances by Chemics with Mark Ingham looking like his old self, Micky Hill continuing his excellent pre-season form and Robbie Moore giving his usual commanding performance at the heart of Chems back four.

Ian Waller looks a good partner for Moore in the centre backs position, with club captain Mark Robinson still injured and the Chemics management will be pleased that this partnership is blossoming.

Chems last friendly will be against Buckley on Wednesday, August 9, kick-off 6.30pm.

The Reserves have a friendly on Thursday night against Moorfield, kick-off 6.30pm.

Both games will be at home.

The first team season starts on Saturday, August 12 when they visit Heswall, kick-off 3pm.

Chemics £100 tote winner was Eric Thornton with number 160.
