A HOST of businesses, pubs and shops have received the stamp of approval from the town for their facilities for disabled people.

Organisers of the EASE awards - Ease of Access, Service and Employment - have asked for nationwide nominations from the public for organisations that demonstrate good practice.

And they have had a great response from Warrington with more than 20 organisations praised.

The nominations are divided into categories which include a community achievement award and a special award for overall awareness. Three short-listed finalists from each category will undergo extensive audits and assessments and will be judged by an authoritative panel.

The winner will be announced at The London Hilton on October 4.
