A VERY special thanksgiving service is to be held in the United Reform Church in Haslington this Sunday, August 13.
The service is to acknowledge and gives thanks for the 50 years of service given by church organist Harold Critchley.
Harold is undoubtedly the longest serving organist in the church's 200 year history and regularly accompanies the Singing Group at the church.
Elder at the URC, Ray Stafford, said: "It is a wonderful record of dedicated service and he is a very able musician."
The service is to take place on Sunday morning commencing at 10.30am.
