HORSE lovers from Winsford are celebrating after the return of their six-week-old Shetland Pony.
Des Hurn became increasingly worried after the foal, Shane, which belongs to his five-year-old grand-daughter, disappeared from its field in the early hours of Sunday morning, August 5.
At such a young age the foal was in danger of dying without its mother, so Mr Hurn made a desperate appeal on television.
Within hours police were alerted to a foal that was tethered near a travellers camp in Haydock Park Industrial Estate and a man was arrested.
Mr Hurn said: "I'm delighted to have Shane back and particularly pleased that it was all sorted out before my grand-daughter came back from holiday."
