GUARDIAN readers are being given the chance to choose the name of Kingsmead's first pub which is due to open before Christmas.

Builders have already started work on the pub and much care has gone into the design of the building, which has been bought by JW Lees, a Manchester-based independent family brewery.

But the only thing missing is the name.

Now readers of the Guardian are being offered the opportunity to decide for themselves what the new pub should be called.

All you have to do is send in a suggestion with a short explanation of the reason for the name.

The lucky winner will not only have the honour of seeing their suggestion up in lights, but will also win a £100 gift voucher to spend at Willhoughby's wine merchants.

Send your ideas on a postcard to The Kingsmead Pub Competition, The Editor, Northwich Guardian (editorial department), 15 Market Street, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 5DT.

Closing date for entries is Friday, September 1.

Usual Newsquest Media Group rules apply.

The editor's decision is final.
