A LEVEL results are published tomorrow, Thursday, August 17, with GCSE results the following week Thursday, August 24.

For many students this signals the start of a frantic rush to decide their future - but don't worry, help is at hand...

AN AGONISING wait will soon be over for A Level and GCSE students - with results due out in the next two weeks.

Most teenagers will get the results they need.

But some may find that they haven't achieved the grades they were asked for - and others may have done better than they hoped and will want to consider new options.

That's where Cheshire Guidance Partnership comes in.

It has eight careers centres - so help is at hand if you need to change your career plan.

In Northwich, the careers centre is in Brunner Court, Witton Street, and the Winsford Careers Centre is at 24/26 Queens Parade. Opening times are: Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm, Fridays 9am to 4.30pm.

Professional staff are available to help with information on options for higher education, college courses and jobs with training.

The careers centres also have the latest on-line higher education vacancy listings and a full range of information about courses in all universities and colleges.

For those who are completely undecided and confused about which career option they should pursue, it may be worth considering taking a comprehensive occupational test.

Tests can be arranged through the careers centres to provide a more scientific approach to choosing a career, based on an analysis of natural aptitude, personality and intelligence.

Speaking for Cheshire Guidance Partnership, Colette Davies said: "Our staff can provide advice for young people and adults to help them find their way through their career choices.

"Our aim is to make sure they consider all the alternatives and find the best option which will be right for them."

All you need to do is call in at your nearest careers centre or ring 01606 331515, or 862213, or freephone 0800 980 9877.
