RACING for the line! These youngsters tackled a donkey derby at Sandbach Rugby Club which has helped raise more than £3,500.
The money will boost the junior and mini sections of the club, providing new equipment and funding a tour to Belgium next year.
The donkey races were part of a Summer Fete on Saturday which was supported by MP Ann Winterton.
"We were delighted to welcome her and were over the moon with the large crowds that came along. The weather was wonderful and the financial outcome will certainly help our work with youngsters," said organiser Gareth Evans.
"The club is eager to encourage young players of any age. If any would like to join us they can just turn up at one of our Sunday morning training session. A new season begins in the second week of September. The sessions all start at 10am," he added.
The club is in Bradwall Road.
