WOOLSTON Rovers continued their pre-season warm up with two fine victories at the weekend.

The first was against fellow National Conference League side Siddal at Bennett's Rec.

Rovers welcomed back Nigel Quarmby and Adam Jude to their ranks after a season's break and also had second row Jon Cole back to full fitness after he missed the closing weeks of last season.

Try scorers for Woolston were hooker Drew Povey, stand off Quarmby, Cole, two, substitute Jude and Neil Thomas in the 30-10 victory.

Rovers rounded off their pre-season with an excellent, hard-fought 10-9 victory over Great Britain Students on Sunday.

Rovers, 8-2 behind at half-time, narrowed the gap when centre John Welch crossed for a try.

An excellent finish by Rovers saw them gain a deserved victory when substitute Drew Povey went over.
