Warrington Wolves u21 16
London Broncos u21 34
AFTER the first 15 minutes of Sunday's Super League curtain-raiser Warrington Wolves Alliance led 6-0 with a Paul Wood try converted by Steve Kirkbride.
All was looking good although injuries had caused some Academy players to be drafted into the squad. And there was experience with Mark Forster, Neil Parsley and Warren Stevens, on return from a loan stinit in Australia, also playing.
Stevens showed that he had stiffened up his defence while away and the ground shook with some of his big hits.
However, things went downhill as Napoli and Iwenofu scored tries.
Wolves seemed to respond initially to the half-time talk, as Gareth Barber pounced on a grubber kick to score. Forster then finished a cross-field move as the Wolves Wolves took a 16-14 lead.
However, the last quarter proved disastrous as London scored three tries to complete Warrington's misery after a poor performance.
Team: Alstead, Parsley, Stenhouse, Reddicliffe, Forster, Barber, Kirkbride, Stevens, Gleeson, Wood, Haughton, Bellamy, Hill. Subs: Grady, Barry, Kay, Parry.
