WARRINGTON Wolves chairman Lord Hoyle is issuing thanks to all who have supported the campaign for a new stadium in the town.

The petition 'say yes to the people's stadium' had grown to in excess of 20,000 signatures by the time the GUARDIAN went to press.

Doug, as Lord Hoyle likes to be known, says: "I would like to thank all of you for the tremendous support you have given to the campaign for the people's stadium.

"A very big thank you to all who have signed the petition, sent letters and got the support of their family and workmates.

"Let us all hope that the result is a 'yes' and we can go ahead with the building of a new stadium, which we hope will provide us with a new town and a better future and that all of us can create a people's stadium of which Warrington and I am sure all of Super League will be proud."

All the news on the stadium and superstore plan leading up to Wednesday's crucial meeting is on pages 1, 2, 8 and 9 of this week's edition.
