WESTY park was packed with residents, both young and old, for its annual carnival on Saturday.
The big day began with a procession from Sir Thomas Boteler High School to Westy Park, led by rousing music from a jazz band.
Heather Flannery, the carnival princess opened the event and was crowned by the Mayor, Councillor Sheila Woodyatt. Crowds were also treated to a football tournament, Ju Jitsu display and performances by the Westy Dance Group and a children's entertainer.
A spokesman for the Westy Carnival Team said: "The day was marvellous. The procession was like the Pied Piper of Hamlet, people joined the parade as we passed through the streets. The community spirit on the day was just fantastic."
