N'RTHWICH Rowing Clubs mens Senior Eight cruised to a brilliant victory at the Stourport Regatta on Saturday.
They beat Kingston-upon-Thames in the first round then saw off Agecroft in the final.
Crew members were Alex Warne, Jamie Leighton, Dave Cadge, Zane Randall, Graham Smethurst, Ian Bond, club captain Graham Jump and Matthew Langridge, just back from the world junior championships. The cox was from Ironbridge RC.
The womens Senior 2 Four came through three rounds on Saturday in confident style, but they narrowly missed out in their final.
Crew members were Davena Scott, Samantha Rigdway, Nicky Layther, Sue Gibson and cox Jamie Leighton.
'n Sunday, the same mens eight, with the exception of Avon County RCs Neil Tennant replacing Zane Randall, romped home through two heats before just missing out to the in-form club at the event, Quintin, of London.
It was a brilliant weekends racing. There were so many club members present to compete and support and this added so much to the atmosphere, said Graham Jump.
