WEAVERHAM remain in desperate relegation trouble as neighbours 'akmere crushed them at Wallerscote Road on Saturday.

Electing to bat, the home side were hustled out for a paltry 68 by Andy Norton (4-25), Nick Talbot-Butler (3-6) and Paul Hutchinson (3-30). Alan Bell and Nick Robertson made 15 each.

Bell (2-20) briefly threatened to bring Weaverham back into the match, but Paul Guilford (38) and Peter Jones (18 not out) saw 'akmere home comfortably to 70-3.

'akmere are at home to Irby this Saturday, while Weaverham visit Winsford (both 1.30pm).

Things were even worse for Weaverhams 2nds team as they were dismissed for a disastrous 36 by title favourites 'akmere.

The visitors made their runs in 30 overs, Henrik Kazmiercak top scoring with 16, while Nigel Barrington-Smith took 4-13 and Eddie Gibson 6-22.

'akmere took just 12 of their 60 overs to reach 37-1, completing the nine wicket win at 3.35pm.

This Saturday, 'akmere play beaten cup finalists Irby, who are chasing them hard for the title.

Weaverham 2nds are at home in the reversed fixture with Winsford.
