N'RTHWICH stayed in contention for the Alliance Division 'ne East title with a win over Wistaston at Moss Farm on Saturday.
They dismissed their visitors, who made 235-5 the previous week, for just 99 in 44 overs. Mark Minton and Simon James were the chief tormentors with 4-30 and 4-32 respectively.
Good innings from Andrew Pickstock (22) and Simon Millington (29) helped Northwich reach their target with 14 overs and three wickets to spare.
Northwich 2nds suffered due to the start of the football season, missing key players in their defeat at Wistaston.
Junior Steve Mellor scored 26 and debutant Richard Carter-Evans 47 not out as Northwich went for 102 chasing 175-2.
This Saturday, Northwich have a free week, allowing other title hopefuls the chance of establishing a lead. Northwich 2nds play at Wilmslow Wayfarers.
