BARNT'N picked up the new season where they left off the old, beating newly promoted Trafford in their opening Mid-Cheshire League match.
Mark Tomlinson created the opening goal for Les Miranda with a superb through ball which the striker slid under the goalkeeper.
Miranda thought hed chipped in a second, but this was ruled out for offside, before Derrick Fortune had to be alert to prevent a Trafford equalizer at the other end.
It was Miranda who created the second on 58 minutes, putting Dave Murray through and he lifted the ball over the advancing keeper.
Tonight (Wednesday), Barnton are away to Knutsford in the league (6.30pm) and away to Grove United on Saturday (3pm).
