RADBROKE Hall 1st XI just about blew their chances of success in the Shammah Nicholls Cheshire Alliance Division One after a disastrous defeat at home to Langley on Saturday.

Having bowled out the opposition for just 87 (Neil Almond 3 for 11, Keith Hughes 3 for 12), Radbroke's depleted batting line-up crumpled for just 44, on a wicket that offered great assistance to the bowlers all day long.

Radbroke Hall 2nd 87 for 2

Langley 2nd 83

RADBROKE'S 2nd XI fared much better up in the hills at Langley, shooting out their hosts thanks to fine bowling performances from skipper Iqbal Jaffer (4 for 32) and Dave Bridle (4 for 9.)

In response unbeaten knocks from Sukanta Mukherjee (28*) and Mike Heaword (26*) steered Radbroke home by eight wickets.

The 2nd XI stay on course for possible honours near the top of the Division A table.
