ANOTHER pensioner in Hale has fell victim to a conman who went into her home posing as a charity worker then helped himself to over £200.

At around 3.30pm on Monday afternoon, a 91-year-old lady was called on by a man who was reported to be selling household items on behalf of the blind.

When she opened the door he asked if he could have a glass of water and went into her home.

The lady went into the kitchen to get the man a drink and when she returned, she found the man had vanished and £245 was missing from her purse.

Police are warning all residents to be on their guard and to check callers for identification before allowing them to enter homes.

They are also urging anyone who can identify the offender to contact them.

He is described as white, aged in his mid 20's, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build with short brown hair.

He was wearing a navy blue anorak. If you can help identify him, or if you witnessed anything suspicious, call Det Con Keith Logan on 01244-613733 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800-555 111.
