AN ELDERLY man was taken to hospital with a head injury this week after being attacked in his own home.
The 88-year-old man was pushed by an intruder who forced his way into his house in Church Road, Hale, after knocking on the door.
There was a struggle and the offender stole a wallet containing a small amount of cash and store cards.
The elderly man was treated in hospital for a cut to his head but was not detained.
The police are once again warning old people to be on their guard and not to open their doors to strangers. Any legitimate callers will not mind having their credentials checked. If you are in any doubt, call the police.
The attacker is described as a white male, stocky to medium build, 5ft 8ins, aged 20-30. He had dark hair, was unshaven amd wearing dark clothing.
