CONGLETON students were celebrating after A Level results peaked above the national average.

Students of the A Level Federation in Congleton, which consists of Dane Valley, Westlands and Heathfields High Schools, enjoyed a pass rate of 89 per cent.

Congleton pupils overall scored a 91 per cent rate with 38 per cent passing at A or B grade standard.

One notable achiever was Chris Carter from Heathfields who was in the top five for English Language nationwide.

Other achievers, pictured, include Sarah Casewell and Katherine Harrison, who got four As and one B each and James Benson, Michael Philips and Vanessa Hardy who scored four As each.

Emily Rose and Jessica Bolt got three As and one B apiece and Headteacher Roy Dewings said: "There have been some notable individual achievements by students at each of the three high schools and we would wish them well for the future."
