CARNIVAL capers will set Crewe alight over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Organisers are delighted with the way it's shaping up.
"Everything's going well. We've had a stream of last minute entries for the parade and I think it should be a brilliant opener," said council organiser Elaine Dodd.
Watch out for Gladiator Hunter. If the sun shines he'll be riding in a red Ferrari. If it rains he'll take to a yellow Rolls-Royce.
Fancy dress and float entries will be competing for special Millennium clocks which will also be presented to key voluntary helpers.
One has already gone to the Westenders Second Gear shop in West Street for its imaginative Carnival window display.
