SIX new Justices have been appointed to serve at Crewe Magistrates Court.
Following an extensive recruitment campaign the magistrates are to begin training shortly and will begin presiding over cases in two or three months time.
For Crewe the new magistrates are to be Linda Bennett from Holmes Chapel, Robert Henley from Goostrey, Roma Hume from Congleton, Patricia Rathbone from Alsager, David Spilletts from Wistaston and Amanda Stansfield from Alpraham.
A spokesman from Cheshire County Council said the chosen magistrates were from a wide and varied background.
Anyone interested in becoming a magistrate in 2001 should note the closing date for entries is November 20 this year.
Applicants must be aged between 27 and 65 and must attend court 94 hours a year on a voluntary basis.
