JOHN Davies and David Tattersall stole the show for Oulton Park, notching all 10 Marple wickets between them in Saturday's vital victory.

Marple lost their last eight wickets for 19 runs, as Davies took 7-50 and Tattersall 3-39 to keep Oulton second in the promotion race for the ECB Premier.

Chasing 133 for the win, Park made a good start through Roger Thompson, given his chance to open due to Greg Dimery's struggle for fitness.

He made 47, putting on 75 for the first wicket with Steve Yates to set their side up for a routine knocking off of the target.

Despite a hiccup when Paul Berry went for a rare duck, the introduction of destructive Steve Dublin to the crease brought a murmur of anticipation for the crowd and he didn't disappoint.

He hit a straight drive for six off his first ball and a torrent of boundaries followed to take Oulton Park to 136-3 with 30 overs to spare.

Oulton Park go to Brooklands in the league this Saturday (1pm) before taking on Cathedral (Chester Boughton Hall) in the final of the Cheshire & North Wales Knock Out Cup on Sunday.

On August Bank Holiday Monday, it's Oulton's turn to sit out from the Murray Smith Division One fixtures.

The next big cup day comes on Sunday, September 3 when they face Nantwich at home in the semi-final of the League Cup.

Rain delayed the start of Oulton Park 2nd XI's match at Hale Barns, where Paul Murray's 3-20 helped reduce the home side to 148-7.

Park made 75-2 in reply. Oulton host Stockport Georgians this Saturday.
