STAN Frith bounced back to form on Monday night by winning the Cowley Cup.

The Owley Wood man won the trophy for the first time since 1979 by beating Lostock's Nigel Faulkner, the 1983 champion, 21-10 in the final at Farmer's Arms, Rudheath.

Frith began the night with a 21-12 win over Beech Tree's Dave Rutter, and continued his dominance with a 21-16 victory over another Lostock bowler, Paul Mackie in the semi-final.

Frith, pictured below during Monday night's success, received his cup and prize money from Max Bacon, the pub's manager and competition sponsor.

The next Mid-Cheshire Bowling Association final is this Monday, August 21, the Barber (Honda) Pogson's Pairs, at the Beech Tree, Barnton.
