BEER drinkers at the Rotary Club's annual festival will be in seventh heaven - and not just because of the vast selection of ales on offer.

For appearing live on the opening night, Friday, September 22, is the Janesville Blues Band, featuring vocalist Jane Fraser.

The five piece blues band has recently completed a tour with Van Morrison and is looking forward to its second visit to the festival.

Jane Fraser performed on the Saturday of last year's festival, however, this year she will play Friday night so all supporters of the Beer Festival will have the chance to hear her special brand of blues and soul music.

David Hubbard, chairman of the organising committee, said: "I am very pleased to get a return visit from Janesville Blues and Jane Fraser's blues singing will be a real treat for the sell out Friday night audience."

On Saturday, September 23, Brian Pilkington's Audio Shock, who play classic and contemporary rock and pop, will provide the entertainment.

The three sessions are Friday night, 7pm - 11pm, Saturday lunchtime, 12pm - 4pm and Saturday night, 7pm - 11pm.

"For those who want a quiet drink and to sample the great range of real ales available then Saturday lunchtime is the ideal session," added Mr Hubbard.

Admission is by ticket only, available from the Guardian office, the memorial hall, Vale Royal Information Office, Jack Gee Cycles and Gray Travel.
