I THINK I have just about seen everything now! Let me see if I have got this right; a former chief inspector of police and prospective licensee is waiting, keenly in anticipation, of opening a table dancing establishment "Table-dancing at Cromwell's cottage", last week's GUARDIAN.

There cannot be any doubt that shows far more provocative than ordinary strip shows can only increase the risk of women and even children being attacked and raped, and for a former policeman to be applying for a licence (if Mr B's decided against staging them) really does show a disregard for women's safety that can only be described as intolerable.

Has he never had to conduct an investigation into a rape case? Or hasn't he made enough money from his high ranking position?

It's to be hoped that both these applications are given the short shift they deserve.
