A WARRINGTON mum was outraged when she found a piece of glass in a children's meal at Gullivers World theme park.

And park bosses have offered her just £15 in compensation.

Luckily, little Connor Chatterton from Gerard Avenue, Bewsey, left the glass on his plate, but when his dad, James Nichols, started to eat his leftovers he ended up with it lodged between his teeth.

His mum, Samantha, told the manageress, who ran into the kitchen to warn staff, and ordered the cashier to give the family a refund. She later admitted the glass had fallen into the meal after a casserole dish shattered.

Samantha added: "He could have sliced his tongue or anything, God knows what could have happened if he swallowed it. He's only two, he wouldn't have known any difference."

And, almost a week later, Samantha is still waiting to hear from the firm.

But Julie Dalton, managing director of Gullivers World told the GUARDIAN the family would be reimbursed with the money they had spent in the restaurant that day and a letter of apology had been sent out to Samantha. She said she did not know how the glass had got into the meal, but steps had been taken to ensure it wasn't repeated and the kitchen was cleared immediately.

"This was a very unfortunate incident," she added.
