WIDNES rally star Fin McCaul heads for the Isle of Man next week, September 7, in a bid to claim the Volkswagen Polo Rally Challenge runner's-up prize worth £3000.

McCaul, 37, and his co-driver Paul Green, moved into third place in the championship in July, and they and their Shropshire Rallyschool-backed car will arrive at the final round, the Manx International Rally, only six points behind their closest rival, Dumfries driver Niall Cowan.

McCaul and Lancashire's David Bateson are the only men who can overhaul Cowan for second place.
