FURIOUS Alsager manager Greg Clowes blasted his side on Saturday after seeing them crash 6-0 in the league at Holker.

The defeat was in stark contrast to Alsager's battling 1-0 mid-week victory at Oldham, Ben Biddulph scoring the winner.

Alsager travelled to Holker with Mark Timms returning from illness and David Whittaker, on a month's loan from Leek Town, making his midfield debut.

Holker took the lead on 14 minutes when Foster curled a free kick into the net.

They made it 2-0 five minutes later when a long kick down the middle caught Alsager out, and Waters ran through to score.

Waters added a third on 27 minutes with a carbon copy of his first goal.

Hudson struck a fine shot past Chris Ball for number four on 49 minutes, and it was 5-0 in the 70th minute when Colin Donaldson headed into his own net.

Water completed his hat-trick with eight minutes left from another long ball down the middle.

''Alsager let themselves down badly, and the manager, who was furious after the match, told the players such performances would not be tolerated,'' said Alsager press officer Sam Brotherton.
