STEVE Haw took just 18 seconds to set Witton on their way to their third straight win of the campaign at early season strugglers Harrogate Town on Saturday.

Later Haw claimed that, in his days at Southport, he had actually scored an earlier goal, but it's unlikely a quicker strike will emerge in the UniBond League this season.

Lee Anderson attacked from right back to create the chance, sending a cross to the back post which was met by Paul Hennin. His left foot shot was brilliantly headed in by the striker to get Witton off to a flying start.

Despite their early domination, Witton still had Phil McGing to thank for keeping Harrogate at bay as he tipped a header over the bar.

Danny Graystone then went to the other end and made it 2-0 with his second goal in as many games. Lee Cox, back to his best, threaded the ball through for Graystone to calmly shoot past Chris Hill.

Town tried to force their way back into the game on 21 minutes, McGing throwing himself at the feet of Pav Singh to keep his proud goals against column blank so far this season.

The most worrying incident for Albion after this was the injury which ruled Nigel Gleghorn out of the derby with Winsford and the remaining 62 minutes of this game.

Without their influential manager pulling the strings in midfield, Witton were happy to see out the match for 2-0, their tenth consecutive victory.
