THERE was plenty to celebrate at Rudheath High School -with outstanding individual performances and a record percentage of pupils obtaining five or more GSCE qualifications.

Headteacher Mike Hayhurst said : "There have been some tremendous individual performances this year- particularly by the boys.

"Perhaps the most pleasing aspect has been the further improvement in the performance of pupils across the ability range.

"In this area there has been an increase of eight per cent in the percentage of pupils gaining five or more GCSE qualification than ever before.

He added: "The results reflect the hard work and dedication shown by both pupils and staff. I am delighted by their achievements."

Top performers were head boy, Mark Roberts from Wincham (six A *s and three As); head girl Carly Stuart from Rudheath (one A* seven As and one B). Other pupils who obtained high grades were Matthew Sims, Mark Johnson, Bryony Goryl, Mark Kettle and Michael Jacques.
