EGERTON enjoyed a pre-season friendly against newly-promoted Weaverham.

They got off to a great start when Scott Beattie latched on to a through ball and hammered the ball home.

That produced a spirited response from Weaverham and by half-time they had taken a 3-1 lead.

Egerton tightened their defence in the second-half and gradually took control.

Beattie added a second and Danny McNeil Slotted home a great equaliser.

The game looked to be heading for a draw when Weaverham grabbed a fourth in injury time.

There was just time for Egerton to get down the other end and Jonathan Scott pulled Egerton level again.

Returning players Robinson, Burley and Bongard helped Egerton to produce a solid performance with the promise of better times ahead this season.
