John Clarke and Mike Wilding shared the honour of best actor after they impressed audiences in Shop at Sly Corner and The Diary of Anne Frank respectively.

An outstanding portrait of Anne Frank earned Sarah Mann the Gang Trophy for the biggest achievement by a junior performer.

And the story of the troubled jews gave Noel Cornes the highest of accolade when he scooped the Winstanley Trophy for best production.

Also recognised was best actress Margaret Wild, most promising newcomer John Clarke and special certificates were given to first-time actors Kali and Zara Butterworth.

John Fuller was named as the groups chairman for another year at the Little Theatres annual general meeting.

Most of the other committee members were re-elected and Sally Bennett joined the team.

The first play of the new season, Chiltern Hundreds, runs from October 18 to 21.

An audition starts at 7.30pm on August 8, at the theatre.
