IN REPLY to MP Helen Jones: OeUpsurge in free eye tests' regarding the welcome news that more pensioners are taking advantage of free eye tests.
I would like to point out that before Labour's introduction of this service, various opticians were aware of this need and offered FREE tests to pensioners.
Now Labour, looking through rose coloured spectacles, are providing the service but they seem to be unaware that ordinary pensioners can't afford to purchase new spectacles required as indicated by some of the tests unless we are classed as the poor and are receiving income support for everything.
