KING and Queen A take a three-point lead into the final game of the season in Section A of the Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association Friday League.

This follows their 10-5 win at Richmonds A when Larry Wells and Chris Ashton recorded 21-7 successes.

Skipper Dave Penketh, 21-6 and Ernie Lockett, 21-9, were Rylands As top winners in the 11-3 success over St. Oswalds A and they are in second spot.

Wins by Brian Wilkinson, 21-6 and Bernard Carroll, 21-7, helped Alford A to an 8-6 win against Grange A. Brian Welsby took the visitors sweep 21-9.

GESMAs 11-3 hammering of Touchers A included Keith Ashcrofts 21-3 card.

Brian Blackwells 21-5 win helped Tetley A to a 9-5 victory over Farmers A.

Alford B are favourites to win Section F after an 8-7 victory at Stag B. A. Hill won the sweep with a 21-6 card. B. Muttock won 21-7 for Stag.

Second-placed St. Josephs, six points adrift, also won 8-7 at Crosfields B. Ron Molyneux returned a 21-8 card.

Third-placed Grange C won 10-5 at Rylands D. Brian Smith, 21-5 and E. Cox, 21-7, were the top winners. J. Harper took the home sweep, 21-8.

Wins for T. Nolan, 21-5 and T. Peel, 21-7, helped Tetley C to a 9-5 victory over Croft. T. Woods, 21-13, was the visitors best card.

Eagle B defeated Plough 9-5 with R. McCrackens 21-3 card the best of the night.

St. Oswalds B are top of Section D. The 10-4 success against Tetley B included wins by J. Beddall, 21-5 and M. Cripps, 21-6.

Second-placed Richmonds B lost 9-5 at Woolston B. B. Cook, 21-4 and S. Harrison, 21-5, were the top winners.

Cards from Jack Dunne, 21-2 and Derek Crawford, 21-8, helped Red Lion B to a 9-6 win at British Rail. John Ashton, 21-4 and Ronnie Timmis, 21-5, were the home sides best.

P. Pownall won 21-12 for Post Office in the 10-4 win over Transport A. Dave Myles replied with a 21-10 card.

Padgates 11-3 thumping of Saracens B included wins from P. Byers, 21-3 and N. Deakin, 21-7.

Three teams are in the running for Section E. Smithys and Fiddlers Ferry are joint top, with Crosfields A three points adrift.

Smithys defeated Brooklands B 12-2, while Fiddlers Ferry won 10-5 at Rylands C.

Crosfields A had an 8-7 victory at Transport B. Rod Jones, 21-4, S. Beechall, 21-7 and T. Lamont, 21-8, were their top winners. R. Lunt won 21-10 for the home side.

Orford WM defeated Kings Club 9-5. T. Birchall took the sweep 21-8. Roy Newey replied with a 21-5 card.

Pierpoints A lead Section B by two points from Brooklands A and six from Red Lion A.

Section C favourites are Rylands B. Their only challengers are King and Queen B.

There will be a delegates meeting on Wednesday at Richmonds Social Club, commencing at 7.30pm. Main business will be collecting any outstanding trophies and handing out prize presentation tickets. Also this will be the last date for nominations for player of the year.
