RYLANDS A take a three points advantage into the final week of the Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association Monday League.

Their 11-4 win at Monk Sports A included three 21-9 winners and Brian Lawton, 21-7, John Nolan, 21-4 and Dennis Aldred, 21-5, were the home side's best.

Second-placed King and Queen A won 9-6 at GESM A. John Taylor was the top winner, 21-6. Keith Ashcroft and Jim Sherlock shared the home sweep, 21-11.

Grange A assured themselves of third spot by defeating Tetley A 11-3. Brian Lindley, 21-6 and Eric Boyle, 21-8, were the best winners. P. Clegg won 21-3 for the visitors.

Eddie Roberts, 21-3 and Chris Welsby, 21-6, were the top St. Oswalds A winners in the 10-4 success over Farmers A.

Bernard Carroll won 21-9 for Alford A in an 11-4 win at Touchers A. Martin Maxfield took the home sweep 21-1.

Brooklands A are the champions of Section B. Mike Culleton, 21-5 and Keith Skelhorne, 21-9, were the top winners in the 12-2 victory over second-placed Red Lion A.

Third-placed Pierpoints A defeated Tetley D 9-5. Sid Nixon and Keith Lee won 21-3. Neil Smith won 21-2 for the visitors.

John Taylor, 21-4, Andrew Hart and Dave Jeffrey, both 21-8, were Hollins Park B's top winners in the 11-3 success over Monks Hall. Graham Cowell took the visitors' sweep 21-9.

Cards from Kenny Forster, 21-8 and Martin McInerny, 21-9, helped Grange B to a 9-6 victory at Woolston A. Kenny Somerset took the home sweep, 21-7.

Stag A's 12-2 win over Touchers B included a 21-8 win for A. Davies.

The Section C title has gone to Farmers B. Their 10-4 win over Eagle A included wins for P. McMahon, 21-4 and Eric Holloway, 21-7.

Second-placed Richmonds A lost 9-5 at King and Queen B. J. Hill and Frank Hogg shared the home sweep, 21-11. Ronnie Adcroft replied with a 21-8 card.

Rylands B moved into the race for third with a 14-0 victory against Bulls Head A. Frank Cooper's 21-3 was the best of seven single figure winners.

H. Pickering, 21-0 and P. Conroy, 21-8, were Fiddlers Ferry's top winners in an 8-7 win at Saracens A.

Red Lion B had an 8-7 success over Hollins Park A. Alan Sharples took the home sweep 21-13.

Section D champions are Burtonwood A. A 9-6 home defeat to Transport A did not stop them taking the title.

Second-placed St. Oswalds B won 9-6 at Post Office. E. Bradshaw and R. Melbourne shared the sweep 21-9. E. Dickenson, 21-5 and T. Carroll, 21-6 were the top home winners.

K. Parkinson's 21-4 card helped Crosfields to a 9-5 win against Woolston B.

John Ashton, 21-1 and Ronnie Timmis, 21-6, were British Rail's best winners in the 8-6 victory over GESM B.

Section E will be decided when top of the table Saracens B take on second-placed Bank Quay. Saracens hold a two-point advantage.

Monk Sports C are favourites for Section H with a 10-point cushion from Tetley C.

Eagle B have a four-point lead over Orford WM C in Section H.

Section winning teams are reminded that the dates for this year's championship play-offs are as follows:

First round: Friday, September 8; quarter-finals, Wednesday, September 13; semi-finals, Friday, September 15 and the final is on Friday, September 29. All matches will start at 7pm.
