HARTFORD High School was celebrating after receiving its best results ever.
A record 63 per cent of pupils gained at least 10 grades A-C, over 100 gained at least eight and 135 gained at least five. Excellent results were achieved across the whole ability range.
Sue White, Head of Year 11, and her form tutors set very challenging targets at the start of the GCSE courses, and the pupils met and surpassed them with flying colours.
Nayland Southorn, Headteacher, said: These excellent results bear testimony to the very hard work done by pupils and staff, with the support of their parents.
Everybody is delighted and we wish all the pupils the very best for the future.
Star performers included Mairi Rudkin, who achieved an amazing 11 A* grades after gaining an A in A level Art.
Elizabeth Shaw achieved 9 A* and 2 As. Ella Davies and Laura Goodfellow both attained 8 A* grades and 2 As.
Other pupils achieving at least 6 A* and 3 As were Catherine Ball, Kate Eslick, Mark Kueres and Nicola Pybus.
