EDITOR of the Northwich and Winsford and Middlewich Guardians, Nicola Dufty, is proving she has more strings to her bow.
For she will swing into action this month as vocalist for eight-piece dance band Jazz It Up when they perform at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall.
The band, which includes Nicola's husband Nigel on double bass, features members of The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
The music during the two hour show is that made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller and Ella Fitzgerald.
And the band have even got together a pre-show exhibition about jazz stars of the past and the Philharmonic Hall.
"This is a concert which pays tribute to the wonderful music of the '30s and '40s," said Nicola.
"And we will include numbers that have become known through recent television adverts like They All Laughed and It Had To Be You."
The concert is on Friday, September 22 from 7.30pm. Tickets priced £10 (£8 groups and concessions) are available by ringing the box office on 0151 709 3789.
