A WINSFORD father, who had just celebrated the birth of his daughter, has died tragically in a motorcycle accident.

Keen motorcyclist Stephen Bostock, 35, of Ledward Street, died last Thursday afternoon, leaving behind his 19-week-old daughter Abby and girlfriend Yvette Gresty.

Stephen's mum Sylvia, 56, said he loved his family and was very protective of his handicapped sister Kerry, 24, and cared tirelessly for his terminally ill grandad.

Sylvia added that his father Norman, 60, has been hit badly by the news. She said: "With Stephen's death he feels as though his right arm has been taken away."

Stephen, who worked at Jiffy Packaging, in Winsford, is believed to have collided with an oncoming Ford Mondeo as he tried to overtake a stationary Hyundai car on his motorbike.

The accident happened in Nun House Drive, a few streets away from his home.

He was taken to Leighton Hospital where he died from multiple injuries.

His sister Julie, 32, explained that Stephen was a hard worker who could repair almost anything.

Sylvia said: "He wasn't interested in buying a car or a bike if there was nothing to fix."

Warehouse Manager Dave Alexander, a colleague at Jiffy, added: "As a person he was very dedicated to his job and would always help out his friends. If they needed a car or bike repairing he would do it."

He added: "Over the last four or five months he was really tied up with the arrival of his daughter and it is such a tragic accident."

Stephen's funeral service will be held tomorrow, Thursday, September 7, at Trinity Methodist Church, Winsford, at 1pm.

His body will be cremated in Crewe before his ashes are brought back to Wharton.
