WOOLSTON Rovers may have their first Papua New Guinea player in their ranks on Saturday when they travel to Barrow to play Walney in the National Conference League.
Half-back Tom O'Riley, who played for Oldham last season, has been cleared to play for Rovers ahead of his commitments with PNG in the Lincoln Financial Group World Cup.
O'Riley, aged 25, has been living in Stockton Heath and training with Warrington Wolves to keep in shape. He could prove to be Adrian Lam's half-back partner for the showcase world event.
Team secretary Dave Whalley said: "He is with us for a few weeks and comes into the reckoning for Saturday. Hopefully after the World Cup he will come back to us."
