THOUSANDS of pounds were raised for St Rocco's Hospice on Friday night at a glittering charity ball.
The prestigous fundraising event, held at the Daresbury Park Hotel, was the third of its kind and was attended by Lord and Lady Daresbury and the Mayor, Clr Sheila Woodyatt and her consort, Neville Woodyatt.
Guests had the chance to spin the roulette wheel and gamble thousands of pounds of 'funny money' with pretend tokens.
After the gambling, the charity held two auctions of donated goods, one for real cash and one for funny money.
Guests then danced the night away to the sounds of the group Buzzword and entered a raffle with great prizes such as televisions, holidays and a trip on the orient express!
The charity would like to thank all individuals and companies who donated prizes and sponsored different events.
Event organiser Mike Bloomfield said: "The evening was an absolutely fantastic success.
"We managed to raise more than £10,000, beating all previous totals. I would like to thank all our dedicated volunteers who really go out of their way to help the hospice."
