A SHOP assistant was threatened with a knife in a robbery at the Spar shop on Dam Lane in Woolston on Wednesday night.
A man went into the shop at 9.30pm and bought a packet of cigarettes from a male member of staff, then pulled out a knife.
He threatened the worker and demanded money, then grabbed cash from the till and ran out of the shop, heading towards Gigg Lane.
The offender is white, 6ft, medium build, aged 20 to 30 years and was wearing track suit bottoms, a dark woollen hat and a white scarf over his face.
Detectives would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone who can identify the man. To contact police, call 01244 613833 or 652222.
