IT seemed like a fair swap in 1999, so Winsford Cricket Club have repeated their captaincy change of two years ago.

Andy Cooper took over from Andy Johnson for the second time as Winsford confirmed appointments for 2001 at their Annual General meeting last week.

Cooper's vice captain will be Barry Crellin, Chris Barraclough will again lead the second team and Graham Smout will be his vice.

The club paid tribute to Ron Speakman, who stood down as treasurer after five years, for all the hard work and effort he put into his role.

His successor for the forthcoming year will be Keith Buckley. Ian Lakin continues as chairman, Peter Johnson as secretary.

Winsford officials thanked everyone who sponsored and supported them over the last year, not only through match day and match ball sponsorship, but in every area at Knight's Grange.

The 2001 season will be Winsford's first in the new second division of the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League.

Winter nets for seniors and juniors will start in January and anybody interested in going along is welcome. For more information about club activities, contact Peter Johnson on 592292 or visit the club on Tuesday or Saturday evenings.
