NORTHWICH Rowing Club's veteran men's quad romped home to their second win in as many weeks at the Chester Small Boats Head on Saturday.
Geoff Howcroft, Dave Street, Simon Crouchley and Brian Roberts beat Trafford RC by 58 seconds, sending out a clear warning to Henley Veterans for next year.
The women's junior 15 double sculls were also impressive as Esme Taylor and Lucy Ryder beat George Watson College RC by an outstanding 2 mins 40 secs.
On the social side, Northwich Rowing club is busy raising money to re-vamp the ladies changing rooms, with a wine tasting evening and a Chinese banquet at the Emperor's Court held last week.
A team of volunteers also spent Saturday extending and improving the flagged area outside the club, enabling them to cope with the increased interest in events due to some of them gaining national status.
