POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured during a vicious attack in Northwich town centre.
It happened just after 11.30pm on Saturday, November 18, by the underground subway entrance outside the Seafarer Restaurant, in The Arcade.
A number of people were involved in the serious disturbance which police believe took place after an argument got out of control.
It is understood no weapons were involved - but the teenager had to be rushed to Leighton Hospital where he received treatment for serious head injuries.
DC Tony Jones, who is leading the investigation into the attack, said: "We are appealing for witnesses who were near to the Seafarer at the time to come forward, as help is needed to find out exactly what has taken place."
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident, but not charged.
If you may have witnessed the disturbance or have any information which may be able to help police with their enquiries, ring DC Jones at Northwich CID on 01244 613234, or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
