THIS flat coat retriever cross collie, who has been looked after by Willows Veterinary Hospital in Hartford, needs a new home.
The stray, which turned up a month ago has had an operation on a fractured right foreleg which has an external fixture rather like scaffolding surrounding it.
Exhaustive inquiries have failed to find any trace of the owners.
At the moment a woman is funding the dog's treatment.
But anyone who takes this dog will not only need to give the dog a great deal of attention as it recovers from surgery - but will also need to fund further surgery.
Trainee veterinary nurse Kate Yalland said: "He's an absolutely lovely dog."
