KNUTSFORD 2ND...1
Bolton 2nd...1
KNUTSFORD entertained promotion rivals Bolton on Saturday and produced their best hockey of the season.
After the first 10 minutes both teams found their footing and created good chances.
It was the home team who made the most of these when Chris Holah found Tiny Malcolm in space who calmly drilled the ball past the advancing goalkeeper to give Knutsford the lead.
This then seemed to spur the opposition on who were rewarded with a string of short corners.
It was from one of these that Bolton equalised with an unstoppable shot from the top of the D.
The second half saw both teams play some exquisite hockey and create plenty of good chances.
However both defences remained solid and no more goals were scored.
Special mentions must go to man of the match Richard Jones in defence and Chris Hola in mid-field both of whom never gave anything away and were always very committed to the cause.
Next week Knutsford face another tough game when they visit Liverpool University.
