Macclesfield Tigers U10s B...2
BY the time Egerton kicked off the pitch and weather conditions had deteriorated making it very difficult for either side to play any football.
Macclesfield Tigers started the brighter and caught Egerton with two quick goals in the first five minutes.
This seemed to wake Egerton up and, inspired by a great performance from man of the match Michael Nairn, they finally started to press forward and got a deserved goal when Jordan Massey slammed the ball in from close range.
Egerton's confidence grew and they pressed forward all the more with Matthew Wackett's speed up front causing problems.
It was Macclesfield Tigers who could have gone further ahead from a penalty but it was well saved by Michael Simmons.
After the break Egerton pressed forward even more and got the break they deserved when a through ball from Massey set up Wackett to equalise.
They should have scored more with Alex Green and Alastair Nield Fielding both going close.
Macclesfield Tigers did threaten again near the end but they were dealt with brilliantly by Nairn, Andrew Crabtree and Bradley Smith.
