THE grids on Padgate Lane from the junction of Orford Road to Padgate station are always full of water. Consequently when it rains there is nowhere for the water to drain.
In the vicinity there are two churches, one school, two nurseries, one playgroup and various other organisations. Pedestrians are splashed and children step off the pavement to avoid the puddles.
In 1994 I was in correspondence with Warrington Borough Council. The last letter dated January 1995 stated: "I would inform you that the gullies listed by you are all scheduled for excavation to ascertain the cause of the blockage. Unfortunately due to the amount of similar work on the list for all areas of the borough I am unable to inform you when the work will actually be carried out."
So from January 1995 to November 2000 no work has been done!
Would you say the flooding on Padgate Lane is caused by global warming or negligence on the part of Warrington Borough Council? Is this happening all over the country?
PATIENTLY WAITING STILL
Padgate
